Youth X Festival has been operating for several years now. It showcases the creative talents of young people and provides a safe environment for them to celebrate. The day includes, rides, cool and relevant youth entertainment, skate and BMX demo's, stalls and information for young people, prizes, games, food, give aways and most importantly it is FREE!
Community Arts is a priority area identified in the Canterbury City Youth Social Plan. From consultations conducted with young people they identified a need for a forum to support and promote musical and creative arts. The recommendation by the community is for Council to provide avenues for young people to express themselves creatively and promote their involvement in Community Arts at festivals and events.
