2008 Justice Awards

Horizon Theatre attended the Law and Justice Awards on the 29th of October because two people from Horizon were nominated in two different categories .

1. Charles Prince (President)

Charles was nominated for the Law and Justice Volunteer Award. Since it's inception in 1997, Charles has been the President of the Board of Directors of Horizon Theatre and assisted us in our work to use arts activities to promote equal opportunity, and address issues including crime prevention. Participants include young people of all ages and backgrouds - two examples include C- Red and Talkback programs.

2. Jason Dorsett (Youth Liaison Officer)

Jason was nominated for the Justice Medal. As Youth Liaison Officer for the theatre company, Jason emplyes puppetry, drama and contemporary movement in his work with young people from disadvantaged social backgrounds. He has help develop arts strategies to intervene with challanging behaviours snd conducted numerous workshops in the Bankstown/ Canterbury area addressing issues related to many young people's involvement in crime - providing a diversion from ciminal activity, in depth self learning, positive engagement between Police & Youth and development of new skills.
